Hi,

I'm really curious to know how many of us use a VPS solution with Interworx and which one :
openVZ (the virutozzo open source : Os Virtualization)
Xen (ParaVirtualization)

Maybe you could share your experience with one or the other and give some reasons to choose one or the other :)

Ok it's sure that if you have Centos5 or Fedora5/6 I bet you use Xen, but maybe not after all !

OS Virtualization has a lot of advantages compared to Paravirtualisation.

More in an webhosting environnement the needs are surely more consolidation and so the use of OS virtualisation !?!

Both ;)
Both work fine for interworx and other CPs, depends on what the customer want.
OpenVZ only has the nasty "feature" of killing processes when it's out of memory while Xen has SWAP, so it won't kill processes, but will be slower.
But OpenVZ has the nice feature that you can oversell everything, while with Xen, if you're out of memory (sold it with VPSs to your customers), well, you're out of memory ;)

yep !

My thought is that if you do only linux on linux than OpenVZ should be faster and more easy to manage !

With OpenVZ I find that limit the CPU/RAM/BW is much more easy than Xen !

But you right Xen manage swap ;)

Nobody else ?

Just by curiosity :

Which solution do you use :
- limit the monthly trafic
- garanty a max transit debit (1Mbps for example)

How did you setup these solutions ?

To iworx team : Is there an easy way to tweak interworx to limit the the monthly trafic for a full VPS with interworx and show the usage ?

At Nexcess what do you use ? virtuozzo ? Xen ? do you limit the monthly trafic ? I guess you have a tweaked Interworx, no ?
