I just moved my companies one-server install off a slow x32 server onto a brand-spankin' new Intel Xeon-Clovertown 5320L-QuadCore [1.86GHz] with a x64 install of CentOS 4.5 and was wondering if any of you had any tips for a n00b to the x64 world for a couple things I noticed in install and moving files over to the new server:

1. CPU usage never seems to get over 25% even under heavy load (like generating 1024 bit keys) which leads me to believe something might need to be switched on somewhere, either on Iworx or in the OS.

2. Found a link today on just general optimization of Apache + PHP and was wondering if you guys had any thoughts about the information/tips in it. I realize the article is a little old, but is there anything in there that is still applicable (especially in a x64 environment)?

3. Any other tidbits or pearls of wisdom. I notice there isn't very much on the forums on those who run 64 bit recently, so feel free to post your thoughts/experiences.

Thanks in advance!
Dan

I use CentOS 4.5 on an AMD64 and it runs fine. No special optimization here.

only thing that we still have to do is creating a symbolic link in /lib/sendmail since it's not created automatically and that's it.
