Can anyone tell me why I would receive many (perhaps up to 10) copies of a given email, but only singles of others? It makes it real hard to read mailing lists when the conversation randomly repeats itself.
This is a problem with mail servers not “speaking clearly” with each other. I’m guessing the other mail server has a low timeout. So it sends the email to your server and waits for your server to say “i got it!”, but it times out before your server gives the ok and then the email gets put back in the queue even though your server did receive it ok.
I would check if all the duplicate ones are coming from the same server. If so you could probably contact that server admin to let them know.
It happens with a multitude of remote servers.
