Email Issue

Is there an option in Interworx, like there is in CPanel, which says the following for the MX records:

“Always accept mail locally even if the primary mx does not point to this server”.

I’m having an issue right now where I can’t seem to send emails to email addresses of domains hosted locally (which are set to Google Apps emails), but it will send fine to external email addresses. This is all through PHP, and the above CPanel option is the only thing I can see fixing it… since someone else was having the same issue and set that option to resolve it.

I think what you want to do is just turn off the mail for the domain on your server so it won’t try to receive it locally since it’s hosted by a 3rd party.

Wow Justec, WOW…
I’ve had this issue for MONTHS now, and I never knew what to search on the forums. Your one post just solved ALL my mail issues!

THANK YOU! =)

Hey guys -

Justec is correct, the vdeldomain definitely works. There’s a SiteWorx option now, though, that is more easily managed (and reversible, vdeldomain just blasts it)

In SiteWorx, go to Administration -> Mail Options -> Remote Setup. There you can enable and disable local delivery.

With a domain that’s already been vdel’d, I’m not sure what will show up there. In any event, vdeldomain will solve the issue you’re having, int.

I forgot about this, good to know!
