DNS wildcard entry

Hey guys,

im looking to add a whilecard dns entry for subdomains but i dont seem to be able to do so.

this is what i am looking to do

*.mydomain.com A IPADDRESS TTL

Interworx is given me an error when ever it sees the * character.

Anyone know if there is a way around this or do i have to change the DNS file manually by doing a VI into it?

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Nicarlo -

Wildcard DNS isn’t supported in InterWorx 3.0.4. It’s been added as a feature in 4, which is currently in Release Candidate status.

If you’d like to join the beta program and have InterWorx 4rc1 installed, just open a support ticket requesting the upgrade and we’ll get you set up!
