Boot filling up question ??

Hi

i know this is not a interworx problem but since the upgrade to 3 and all the recent os updates my boot is nearly at 100%
/dev/sda1 => 99% Used. Warning. Disk Filling up

can any of the files be removed or can i increase the size of the boot disk/dir
Would appreciate some advice.

Thank you

Hi Bear,

Not sure if you’ve resolved this yet or not, but the .iworx kernels can be removed. However, be sure to double check your grub config and make sure that your box will still boot properly after removing the kernel.

Hi

i have kernel 2.6.9-42.0.2.EL running and have removed old kernels and left one used previously that worked ok for backup.
i used the command rpm -e kernel-version and it cleaned up my grub conf also.

can all these kernels be removed as i think they are used if you have duel core ??
or will that cause problems ??

thank you

Hi

If you sure you use 2.6.9-42.0.2.EL and not the 2.6.9-42.0.2.ELsmp one, then yes you could delete them

uname -a should tell you which one is used

Just be sure that grub is set correctly

Pascal

Thats good that will sort my problem out.
Thanks for your reply
