Clustering & VLAN?

I read on one of the documentation pages that the CM & nodes all need to be on the same “physical network segment.”

Does that mean Interworx clustering would not work properly on a VLAN?

For example, can the cluster manager and nodes all work properly if they are all part of the same VLAN but physically connected to different network switches?

It should work fine on the same VLAN as well.
