DNS - Adding PTR Record to Interworx

I am having some email bounced problems. I ge emails that ar bounced with 554, 553 and several other errors in the email.

I was looking at one of the bounced emails and saw a link to the site that email was trying to be delevered. And they said a missing PTR record would cause a bounce from them,

OK, I go into Nodeworx pull up the zone for the domain in question and sure enough there isnt a PTR record.

Q) I take it Nodeworx does not automatically add PTR record for a new Zone?

Q) What is the proper format when adding a PTR record to a zone in nodeworx? When I click on add a PTR record and get this default, “.in-addr.arpa” in the host field and I get “<< hostname >>” in the Target field.

Thanks for helping me understand this a little better.

You will have to have your DataCenter/Who Ever routes the IP’s to add it, or give you full control, and then you adding the records will help, but if the datacenter doesn’t add it or give you control, it wont do much good.

Thanks,
