myname-default@domain.com

Is it possible to set up an email alias that looks like

myname-default@domain.com, so that

myname-blah@domain.com, myname-whatever@domain.com, etc gets forwarded to me? In other words, some wildcard thing in the alias definition?

I was able to do this at my old host, and every time I registered at an online store, I used an alias like carol-amazon@domain.com, carol-ebay@domain.com, etc. I tried setting up a default@domain.com and got way too much spam into that domain, and gmail’s spam catcher didn’t help (tho it works well generally)!

Thanks, Carol

You have to setup an email account as a catch-all. So, it gets all mails targeted to <any-name-here>@example.com except other names (mail accounts) setup.
