[Request] Amazon S3 in backup.pex transfer.ini

It would be nice to have the ability to transfer the backups to a s3 bucket instead of a FTP server.

What would be the possibilities of having this implemented?

I just talked to a developer about this, and the response I got was “Hmm! That could happen.”

If I get something more solid like a projected date or even a “we’re working on that”, I’ll tell you.

I found this project, using it now to mount a S3 bucket as a NFS mount and having a weekly cron output the backups to that folder (/user/local/interworx/backups/).
Might be a good way to go.
Rotation of remote backups would be nice as well… (relation to http://forums.interworx.com/showthread.php?t=3531)

Any progress on this item. It sure would be nice to leverage Amazon S3 cheap storage for backups.
