Strange Email Issue

Hey All,

Some users are reporting issues with outgoing email. As in, they can get incoming fine, but outgoing won’t go through. I’ve told them to try password authentication, as well as a variety of other things. My question is, what are the correct settings for outgoing mail? As in, what servers to use, and proper usernames? If this seems to be a strange problem, link me to root drop and I’ll let you guys take a look.

We’re seeing more and more ISPs blocking the use of other outgoing mail servers than their own. We’ve just been suggesting to everyone with the problem that they change their outgoing mail server to the one that was provided to them by their ISP.
