CentOS 7 Suppport now in Pre-Beta!

Okay, I guess I’m messing up somewhere. Any ideas?

Looks like you missed the reboot mate.

Ha, ha, ha… my head is hung very low right now. Yes, I did indeed miss the reboot.

I did so and all looks good!

I’m back! :frowning:

Was able to install Interworx and login. Then for the acid test, I rebooted the server. Now Nodeworx will not come up. The page is the standard “Unable to connect”. Any ideas?

Just checked my email and now I’m getting spammed with the following message.

Uncaught IWorx_Exception_DbUtil: DB Error: connect failed [nativecode=Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/usr/local/interworx/mysql/iworx-db.sock’ (2)] ** mysql://iworx:fjt8wn1lkj@unix(/usr/local/interworx/mysql/iworx-db.sock)/iworx
A system error has occurred. Please try your request again in a few minutes.
If the error persists, please contact support.

Sorry, I can do things, but I’m not swift like you guys!

Hi bummer

Have you read ramond post re same errors, and his fix.

It’s posted just before your post on this thread

Lastly, there should be a new beta out soon to test, so you may want to wait.

Many thanks

John

Hey John,

Yes, I read it and it didn’t look like his errors were the same as mine. MariaDB was running, but I restarted it and still the same result. Part of the iworx.log is below. I’d run cvspermsfix.pex if I knew how. I have performed a search when I had a chance, but haven’t found anything to help me yet. The logs below look different than Ramon’s, but maybe I’m wrong.

Hi Kent

Sorry, I meant this part of ramond post

I think this should help you, as your error is db connect failure.

Many thanks

John

Hi Kent

I maybe misreading but your post appears to show mariadb working/started.

Many thanks

John

Hey John,

No, you’re reading correctly. I never had a problem with mariadb. But I still can not login to Nodeworx and am getting the following all the time via email.

Uncaught IWorx_Exception_DbUtil: DB Error: connect failed [nativecode=Can’t connect to local MySQL server through socket ‘/usr/local/interworx/mysql/iworx-db.sock’ (2)] ** mysql://iworx:fjt8wn1lkj@unix(/usr/local/interworx/mysql/iworx-db.sock)/iworx
A system error has occurred. Please try your request again in a few minutes.
If the error persists, please contact support.

I just don’t know what to do to correct it. I know it has to be easy, but I don’t know where to look or what to do.

Thanks!

Hi Kent

Many thanks, I think you just need to run cvspemfix.pex (sorry may have mistyped) from ramond post, by ssh into server, cd /~iworx, cvspemfix.pex. There’s probably man cvspemfix as well for info, although I could be wrong sorry. Lastly, it maybe in a folder called scripts.

Hope that helps

Many thanks

John

Hi,

As John wrote, run ~iworx/bin/cvspermsfix.pex.

As I remember this was my problem too.

Hey guys,

Well, I tried! It took a little while to execute, so I thought this was it. But, it wasn’t. Nothing has changed. I know I ididn’t have to, but just to be sure, I rebooted the server.

Any other ideas?

Thanks,
Kent

Hi Kent

Many thanks.

Did you comment out from my.cnf the MySQL folder not containing anything. You’ll need to read through ramond post and then restart databases, then I would rerun the pex file again.

If this still does not work, can you post your log showing error, sorry even if it is the same error

Also, is this in vps or dedicated server.

Many thanks

John

Hey John,

I really appreciate your help. Thank you!

I’ll go back and try to duplicate exactly what Ramond did. I have other Interworx contol panels that I use. This was 2 week demo given to me by sales to play with. My time is almost up! But, this is a dedicated server, so if I mess anything up, there3 is not loss other than having to re-install. I want to test and work with this.

Thanks,
Ken

Hey John,

Nothing - still the same thing. I’m sure I did everything correctly, but I’m not 100% sure, only 98% sure.

Afterwards, mariadb did restart fine, accoring to the status request.

If above is not what you need, please let me know.

Thanks,
Kent

Hi ken

Sorry, it’s a strange one, as your failure points to either db not running (which it is from your previous posts) or it’s looking at a wrong position.

I’ll have to think a little, but I’m sure IW would let you have a little longer on centos 7, if you ask nicely.

Many thanks

John

Hey John,

Yes, I always get the messy ones. It was fine until the reboot. As you can see below, the database is running. It always has been running, never had a problem with that (that I know of). I think it’s looking in the wrong place, but I don’t know thqat much like you guys do.

I am hopig they’ll extend the the demo longer. It’s good for them and me. I’m not putting anything on it, it’s for testing and such. Plus, I do own other Interworx control panels. I’m going to build another box, but I want to put CentOS 7 on it from the start.

If you have any questions, please let me know. Like I said, I’ll find the strange stuff and I don’t even look for it!

Regards,
Kent

Does anyone know if there has been an update to the latest Interworx for CentOS 7? I think a newer version was due out soon.

Thanks!

Hi Kent

To be honest, I’d be surprised if there were any date given, other then to say its in progress, for obvious commercial reasons.

I hope that helps a little but I’m looking forward to it when it’s announced

Many thanks

John
