Clamav update failed

Hello, I received this error from clamav this morning.


ERROR: Update failed.
ERROR: Database update process failed: Connection failed
ERROR: Update failed for database: daily

ERROR: Can’t download daily.cvd from https://database.clamav.net/daily.cvd
ERROR: Download failed (35) ERROR: Message: SSL connect error

I have more servers and the others appear to be working, only 1 does this happen. What can it be?

Okay, good. The SSL bit is something that could happen on EL6, so I wanted to make sure.

Try running freshclam at the command line. That will try the download again, and may give more information if it fails (though it may just give the same output).

If that does not work, unfortunately, it’s a bit difficult to diagnose what is occurring just from this message, especially as it is not systemic.

If you are not a direct customer, you’ll want to open a support ticket with your hosting or server provider–whomever you purchased the license from.

Hello Jenna.

After i running freshclam, this error:

ERROR: /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log is locked by another process
ERROR: Problem with internal logger (UpdateLogFile = /var/log/clamav/freshclam.log).
ERROR: initialize: libfreshclam init failed.
ERROR: Initialization error!

What I did was restart the service and tried the update again.

Clamd successfully notified about the update.

Solved the problem. Thanks for helping.
