File level Virus Protection

I realize there is some VP built into the latest versions of IW, but my impression is that it’s mail level only.

Is it:

  1. probable to install another VP for file-level scanning?

  2. possible to break anything in IW by doing so?

  3. likely that you have a recommendation to a prefered freeware and/or vendor for a known product that behaves nicely with IW?

ClamAV is also a regular file scanner. I think I posted a question about this in another thread.

I believe it was Paul who suggested I could setup a cron job to run clamAV, but remember the high CPU durning a scan, so it should be one of those late night things and not at the same time your Iworx --daily run.

I’ll see if I find the other thread and post it here
