Having a problem sending an email

to account admin@www.bbqsource-store.com

Getting the following,

Hi. This is the qmail-send program at www.georgia-websites.net.
I’m afraid I wasn’t able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I’ve given up. Sorry it didn’t work out.

<admin@www.bbqsource-store.com>:
Sorry. Although I’m listed as a best-preference MX or A for that host,
it isn’t in my control/locals file, so I don’t treat it as local. (#5.4.6)

This is a test

www.bbqsource-store.com is set up as a cname for the domain bbqsource-store.com

Any ideas, I’m trying to renew an ssl through goetrust and all of the email approvers they give as an option have www in front of the domain name…

Bluesin,

Try this command:

~vpopmail/bin/vaddaliasdomain bbqsource-store.com www.bbqsource-store.com

Paul

Paul,

Not sure if that workd or not, for some reason I cannot seem to get any mail delivered to that admin@bbqsource-store.com, it just gets hung up in the queue…

However, I just picked it up out of the queue and processed it…

If you want to investigate further the place to look would be the /var/log/send/current log when sending a test message. It should give some error message or tell why the message is getting deferred back into the queue.

Paul

This is what I get

That’s an interesting one. I’m going to guess this account was imported from another control panel, that uses qmail slightly differently.

I believe the fix here is going to be to delete the file:
~vpopmail/domains/bbqsource-store.com/admin/.qmail

Paul

Actually,

I just created it today when I renewed the SSL certificate…

Can I just delete it from the control panel?

> Can I just delete it from the control panel

That depends on what “it” is - or maybe it doesn’t - whatever it is you can delete whatever you like

The admin account, I’m assuming that is what is being done via the command above?
