InterWorx forums slow?

I’ve noticed this for the past month or so. Not sure if it’s just some weird issue I’m having or if others are seeing this as well? It’s slow and a lot of time I’m seeing the missing image icons. This happens in both Chrome and Firefox.

slow for me also and sometimes does not load the page, just says connecting
using IE and firefox

I’ve noticed the same; most pages are a little slow to load. Might be since the redesign of the site, or that might just be a coincidence.

Is this just the forums or the entire interworx.com site?

The forums are actually more or less identical to the old way - the build process renders a header and footer, but those are static HTML, and that’s how the old one worked, also.

The main site is definitely slower. The “old” system was based on Docuwiki, and the “live” site was 100% static HTML that the build process generated, so it was crazy stupid fast. And crazy stupid inflexible :slight_smile: The new system is based on WordPress. We’re looking at the caching plugins, but they’re mostly designed for “if you get slashdotted”, not for “if you only update once a month” :slight_smile: So far, it just looks like we don’t get enough traffic to make that worth the additional complexity.

For me it seems to be just the forums. It’s noticeably slow and has weird missing images. Maybe it’s trying to load content that isn’t there and delays it until it gives up and loads the rest of the page. There is definitely something going on here.

I tried to upload a screen shot of the stuff not loading at the top, but the upload tools seems to be broken. Keeps saying I have uploaded an invalid file. Tried with a 100KB JPEG and then like 50KB PNG, same error.

Here are some errors that come up for me on Firefox error checker (the last one comes up 2x):
Error: SyntaxHighlighter is not defined

Line: 310

Error: document.getElementById(“wphc_value”) is null

For what its worth, slow on my end as well. All the images are loading, but its just really slow, reminds me of the old dial up days.

Here is the connection I have

The rest of the site seems to be loading up satisfactory for me.

That is one of the images that just show up with a transparent area and a picture icon in the middle. Does the iworx logo load for you?

This image is in the top left corner of the page.
