I love and am addicted to interworx very much, and would be unhappy to break off the three-year engagement/dependency if I move to lighttpd and drop apache, some time in the near or far future.
Please tell me that four or five years of waiting is long enough!! Then proceed to share your plans to add support for something faster than apache—namely the much beloved lighty. Pray you will! 
And yes, I did see that litespeed is on the roadmap… good to hear.
