Does anyone know how to set SPF records correctly in nodeworx?

When using the SPF entry in the zone editor, it appears to add an SPF entry, but upon checking the spf record with mxtoolbox and others, it only returns the txt entry and not the spf entry…

Any ideas?

Hi alanu

I hope you don’t mind but SPF v1 is a text entry, SPF v3 is a SPF entry.

I think you may have set SPF v1 record, which is a default setting for SPF creation automatically but you can manually edit or add a SPF v3 record.

However, you cannot use both v1 and v3 records.

I hope this helps a little, and personally until more systems fully support v3 records, I would stick with v1 records for now.

Yeah spf1 and spf2 are just text entries. I am wondering if you tried verifying your domain(s) spf records with an external spf checker? IE: http://www.kitterman.com/spf/validate.html

I haven’t been on the forum in a while, but found this little “nugget”, that’s a nice little tool Jeremy, I can see it coming in handy. Thanks for posting it.
