When a user has more than one email account do they need to use a separate smtp account for each email?
In Thunderbird they allow a default SMTP server but it asks for username/password with the server settings.
For example, a single person has email@example.com, firstname.lastname@example.org, email@example.com and firstname.lastname@example.org. They all point to the same mail server, the only difference is the username/passwords.
The smtp settings in Thunderbird are setup with email@example.com as the username/password.
Is this all that’s needed, or do you need to create another smtp server for each email? Can firstname.lastname@example.org send outgoing mail as email@example.com even though he logs onto the smtp server as firstname.lastname@example.org?
