Upgrade MySQL on VPS?

For some reason MySQL version 3.23x is compiled in IW when installed on Virtuozzo VPS. Not sure why it is not 4.x or even 5.x

What’s the best / safest way to upgrade to version 4.1x MySQL on VPS?

The InterWorx-CP installer uses the distro’s MySQL version so I’m assuming you’re on a distro that comes stock with MySQL 3.x.x. You can build MySQL from source or build an RPM for your distro to upgrade or we can do the upgrade for you for a fee.
